As a practitioner of the traditional martial arts (as well as some of the new), I am a big fan of our hero Lyoto Machida who has not forgotten the traditional ways!
If there’s one thing that modern fighting has taught us, is that traditional martial arts needs to evolve, and Lyoto Machida has brought about much change to the way things are done for us serious folks. Hopefully when my injuries subside, I will be back on my feet and kicking again.
Lyoto Machida was born in Salvador, Brazil to Shokotan Karate Master Yoshizo Machida who moved to Brazil at the age of 22. Lyoto was Master Machida’s third son and trained in Karate, Sumo and Jujitsu.
