Army vs Marines: Uniform Faceoff

The Army and the Marines are locked in yet another conflict, this time, over uniforms.
The US Army did not quite get it right when they introduced the UCP (universal camouflage pattern) on their new ACUs (Army combat uniforms) and since then, the search for a more effective pattern took place.
Several units going to Afghanistan in combat roles were authorized to adopt the Multicam pattern. But instead of adopting it service wide, the search for an authentic Army pattern continued.
As for the Marines, standing out is important, but what about money and funding? What if the Marine Corps could in fact develop camouflage for the Army based on the MARPAT designs but are different enough so that people could tell the difference? The Marines could get their hands on some much needed funding that the Army usually has too much of.
Food for thought.
